Randy Fredlund, Cofounder and Chief Imaging Officer at Vivid-Pix, is a photography luminary, engineer, inventor, and entrepreneur. Fredlund was at Kodak for over twenty years, where he was a Senior Researcher, Inventor, and Technology and Intellectual Property Manager, envisioning and implementing new concepts in photography and imaging technology to make a positive difference. He has over 100 patents in the field of digital imaging. Fredlund’s long experience in research, development, and commercialization enable him to translate complex theory into practice.

For the past eight years, Fredlund has been one of the principals at Vivid-Pix, a company with the goal of making image improvement accessible to everyone. Vivid-Pix’s patented, AI software is in use in over 100 countries, by young, young-at-heart, librarians, genealogists, historians, and more. Fredlund invents new ways for people to fix and enjoy their images. Every picture tells a story, and he wants yours to be great literature. Fredlund enjoys the intricacies of technology, even the most esoteric advanced signal processing, with his other pursuits including photography, travel, camping, hiking, paddling, skiing, and then blogging about all the fun.
